The Ijen Crater trip is an attraction for tourists to see its natural beauty, namely the blue fire at the bottom of the crater. But actually, to get a closer look at the bluefire, it's against the rules to go down to the bottom of the crater. Blue fire usually appears at 2.30-4.30am. So the climbing time to the top starts at 2am. Climbers must have tickets booked online, have flashlight equipment and a mask, and a local resident as a guide.

The journey to reach the top generally takes 1.5 hours. On the way, there is a rest area that sells coffee, mineral water and snacks, so it can be used as a resting place for visitors. 

However, if visitors are unable to walk, they can use the trolley services offered by the sulfur miners to go up or down the mountain.
